TMDHosting cheater (be careful)

Old Yesterday, 08:48 AM TMDHosting has a shared hosting model for 3,85$ monthly and you can pay only yearly and i bought and installed wordpress on it. They have 60 day money back guaranty and they are saying unlimitid space and traffic(i know its not true, it should be fair usage) but after 75 days so after money back period they stopped my service and they send and an email "you are using to much resource so we disabled your account" and i have only 150 daily visitors and i asked what is the too much they said "you used 8GB bandwith and also cpu this month" and also they said we cannot refund for this. So they took 1 year subscription money from me and just after money back period they disabled my site without any reasonable reason. i think this is their pattern. Be cereful about them.

Old Yesterday, 09:29 AM Hmm.. its always been a pet peeve of mine when companies do this type of thing. Lock you in for the year, then refuse to give you a pro-rated refund. With that being said, how many plugins did you have installed for your wordpress website?

Again agreed, most of the customer's don't understand that its not only about 150 visits per day that uses their resources.
Must be having quite a few plugins installed there.
May be cron jobs on wp. Cron with WP are a nightmare for such scenarios. but after 75 days so after money back period they stopped my service and they send and an email "you are using to much resource so we disabled your account" Keeping in mind that WP can sometimes be nightmare for the Hosts. I think its not fair for a host to just stop the services sending in a mail. May be suspend the account for a while to stop server abuse and give the account holder time to sort out the issue instead of suddenly disabling the service.
A warning would be a perfect scenario if the account holder can sort the issue out.
May be the TMD Hosting would have something to say here.

I think they would be acting very unfair if they are unprepared to at least settle for that.

Reply With Quote Old Yesterday, 10:01 AM Sorry to read about your bad experience. Hope you have backups and search for a different host. Best of luck.
Reply With Quote Old Yesterday, 10:10 AM It might be the resource. And if you only get 150 hits a day, how do you use 8gb of bandwidth in less then a month? There has to be more then that.
Reply With Quote Old Yesterday, 10:27 AM 150 visitors should not use that much bandwidth unless;

1. you hosting music or video files
2. your account has been hacked
3. you have free theme that was hacked
4. your running too many feed import type plugins...but usually causes load issue not bandwidth issues.
5. spam mail is going out your account

Talk to your host and see if they can help narrow down or show you what used all that bandwidth and resources.

Also as great as Wordpress is, if it's not secured properly you will end up with a lot problems.

let us know if they refund the unused months.

Reply With Quote Old Yesterday, 10:51 AM This is the problem with unlimited hosts in general. An "unlimited" host can close your account for using too many resources at any time, and they will keep all of the money you prepaid them. It is all legal since it is in their terms of service, but it is very misleading to customers.

Be cereful about them.Wow, you must be really very smart. If you know unlimited does not exists but still you hire an unlimited host? Why you hire then an unlimited hosts over a fixed resources one?

You must understand an unlimited hosts is more prompt to abuse by their consumers and since they usually very cheap they need to pack their servers allot. Whats the result? = Less resources for each customer.

8 GB is nothing. Any hosts would give you if you went with a fixed package like 20 GB per month, or 50 GB per month, you would never had this problems. The problem with unlimited is that you don?t know exactly what the limit is, so they can actually kick you out for 1 GB if they want too because the fair usage clause on their TOS is what they consider fair usage based on the usage of other clients on the same server.

So next time, instead of going with a host where you live in the limbo about what you can and cant use, just go with one with fixed and limited resources, enough to power your website.

Sadly there are some limited hosts that will advertise a refund with no issues on their site ,TOS and WHT, but once an issue comes up they point the finger at you and run with your money.

Basically buyer beware at all times, some scams are hiding in sheep clothing.
