Is it possible to have a domain name that points to a sub-domain name

For example, say my sub-domain name was: sub.domain.com and my domain name was exampledomain.com - whenever someone types in exampledomain.com in the browser bar, can I get them viewing the contents at sub.domain.com (and every URL uses exampledomain.com).

How can one do such a thing in cPanel?

I imagine that an account would need to be created as a subdomain of domain.com and then the exampledomain.com needs to be parked somewhere?
